Gabija Balciute: Hello girls! To let you know I am totally workaholic person and I really enjoying it. I am working since age 15 and still moving forward. Now I am 21 and I have various job experiences tarting with organizing and finishing in retail sectors. I am originally from Lithuania, but been living several years in Denmark. There, I had a placement at www.bestseller.com (ONLY) and then worked in Veromoda as Inshop Coordinator Assistant. Unfortunately had to gave it up of theoretical knowledge need, therefore ended up in Huddersfield and exciting course.

Hi I’m Nicola :) I’m 19 and from Middlesbrough. I am a friendly, easy going person who likes spending time with friends, going to the cinema and shopping :).  I decided to study Fashion and Textile Buying at the University of Huddersfield as this course really interested me as I studied both Business Studies and Textiles at GCSE and A-level and wanted to take this further so I could become a Fashion Buyer. I enjoyed both subjects however felt that the business side to fashion was more suitable for me although I can be quite creative. For 2 years I have worked at ASDA as a chilled customer assistant which has improved my customer service, team working and communication skills. This experience has also improved my confidence when talking to customers and given me an insight into the world of work.

Sarah: Hey girls!, where to start!.. i'm a hard worker, i started working at the age of 15 and have had a variety of different jobs and have gained qualifications in customer service skills and retail skills. I have always thrived of being able to work around alot of people, although i am very independant i love working as part of a team. I studied BTEC diploma in Fashion and Clothing where i was able to be creative and design and make clothes which i enoyed alot. iIwent on to choose this course because i wanted to learn about how the industry works and because this course covers such a wide area of business it would give ample opportunties when it came to finding a job at the end of my studies and also gives me the chance to work along side people in the idustry already and gain experience.

Michaela: Im Michaela obviously:) i am a friendly person, easy going, i think im ok to talk to i feel approachable so if you ever need anything or want to know something i'm here even though i might not have as much experience as a few of you there may be things that we can all share in order to help us understand things more so im happy to try and help as best as i can. i have worked mainly as a waitress so although i don't have much experience in retail as ive only ever work in retail for 2 weeks before i have a lot of customer service skills and experience and i would love to learn from you. I have just moved to Huddersfield from a tiny village in Norfolk where all we have is a shop and a pub so its lovely to be here in a town thats quite busy. i chose this course as i always had a passion for design work and fashion and i took Textiles and Applied business GCSE's i done good in both however i didn't honestly know what i wanted to do, i then went on to do a BTEC diploma in Fashion and Clothing as we could also do marketing in the course, marketing is what i came out on top of and so i figured that that would be a good place to start for my future. Start with something you're good and and expand in life when you can. After this course i would like to become a buyer, who for am i not sure yet preferably somewhere a bit creative as i love weird things as you'll get to know but if i am successful i hope to maybe do some of my own work also. I am prepared to work as hard as possible to get where i want in life and im also excited to get to know you all more and learn as much as possible from you all!

What do you  hope to achieve in this module?

Gabija Balciute: I really hope to improve market analysis and oral presentation skills

Nicola Bailey: I would like to improve my oral presentation skills and confidence when presenting to an audience.

Sarah Attlesey: I would definately like to improve on my oral presentation skills- its been a while since i last spoke infront of an audience!

Michaela Bell: I hope to improve on my oral presentation skills as i can get nervous speaking in front of an audience and i also hope to gain more knowledge about analyzing and how it is used effectively.
